Just so you know what you're dealing with.

My name is Anna. I sometimes call myself Anna Lee (hence the initias A.L.E.), because of a song by Dream Theater I used to like. I was born in Moscow. After four years in the hall of residence of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, where my parents were studying mathematics, my mother and I moved to Kiev. When I was 13, my mother married a Swiss accountant, trustee and insurance agent (and avaricious, dumb a*****e), and we moved to Engelberg - a touristic town in the Alps of central Switzerland. My beloved half-brother Ivan was born there two years later. I finished school in Engelberg and now live and study chemistry in Zürich.
My mother tongue is Russian, my German is excellent, I'm fluent in English and my French is horrible. I chose English for this journal, because it's more or less universal. I'm thankful for any corrections from native speakers.
I've been moving arond my whole life. The six years in Engelberg (same flat, same school, same smal town) have basically been torture. I thrive on change - places, routines, people, interests.
It's hard to list my countless shifting interests, so I'll rather say what I don't care for at all, namely politcs, economy, gossip and religion. Politics and economy bore me, although I take care to inform myself about Swiss politics and to vote. Gossip of all kinds I find despicable. I don't want to know who kissed whom at the last party. I don't care which actor married which singer and why. I'm not so bored with my own life yet that I'd need to know about everybody else! As for religion, I mistrust it. Don't confuse religion with belief. I, too, believe in some things. But I'll personally strangle anyone who will try to dictate me what to believe and how to believe it. I don't mind religious people (some of the monks who taught at my school in E'berg had great personalities), I'm averse to missionaries.
These are the need-to-know things, I think.

Concerning photography: I've been into it more or less continuously for the last five years. I like it and I'm not too bad at it, but I'm only just learning the theory and expanding my technique. After several point-and-shoot cameras I finally acquired a Sony Cybershot DSC-H50, which offers more possibilities than a simple point-and-shoot and is more fool-proof than an SLR.
I post-process some of my pictures, using Paint Shop Pro and sometimes Photoshop Essentials.
